it took me some time, but I finally found time to work on the issues of my first design. Thanks a lot to ModestAndroid for his feedback! The main issue was that the plate holding the extruder was too thin, so in practice the extruder would woble around. To fix this problem I added brackets on the other side that hold the side fan of the extruder. The second problem was, that the back hit the z-axis holder. To solve this problem I simply rotated the back blower to minimize its size footprint. Please be warned that I didn' t had time to print it and test it yet. I'll post more pictures and my own feedback as soon as I can. Improvement in V2.0: - Fan brackets for a more secure hold. - Reworked the back plate and the duct to rotate the blower and reduce its horizontal width. - Remodeled all the screw holes. The holes are not so deep anymore so it should be easier to insert the nuts. I also increased the screw and nut size to M3. While trying to build the amazing BLV MGN12 3D Printer mod designed by Ben Levy I looked for a way to use my E3D Titan Aero Extruder instead of the E3D V6. While looking for other designs, I didn't found any ready designs for the BLV MGN12 but I came across the amazing x carriage for the Titan Aero designed by mcabra. I altered his design to be fitted on the BLV MGN12 in a compact way to avoid losing too much printing real estate on the Z axis. The printed parts fit but please bare in mind that this was my first Fusion 360 project and that I had to work with STL files. Therefore the 3D files are a little bit less clean than if I had started form scratch.
