E3D+VET exercise: Earth Structure

thingiverse

This exercise is part of 30 hands-on projects developed during the E3D+VET program. The goal of this Erasmus+ initiative is to immerse VET centers in 3D printing through their website at https://www.e3dplusvet.eu/. The model comes with two distinct sides: • One side takes on a spherical shape, giving students an idea of what the Earth looks like from above. No details are necessary at this point. • The other side is crucial to completing this exercise. It showcases the layered structure of the planet in a clear and visible manner. While layer colors can enhance educational value, they're not required. What's essential is that layers are slightly raised, allowing students to grasp where each starts. To accurately depict dimensions, consider the radius from the center, which represents real-world measurements. An indicative radius will suffice as long as it clearly distinguishes between larger and smaller layers. The inner core takes on a half-sphere shape, representing the final layer.
