Ear Spiral

Ear Spiral

thingiverse

Having experimented with PLA in piercings and found it to be perfectly biocompatible - it won't biodegrade in your piercing - I thought it was about time to produce an "ear spiral" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiral_%28piercing%29 for my delicate lughole. This specimen is printed in Diamond Age "Grape" PLA in 0.23mm layers with a 0.45 nozzle on a DiamondMind V2 printer. It is quite comfortable but I might print a 0.09mm layer one in opalescent lilac just to give it a slicker look. Instructions Scale to suit, print in PLA, poke in ear. To sterilise & clean, use isopropyl alcohol, vodka or surgical spirit. The Openscad source file allows you to adjust the amount of curl, the tightness of the spiral (via its exponential), the number of steps to tweak the resolution and the start/end diameters. Or just download the STL...
