Earrings: Christmas ball

Earrings: Christmas ball

Very simple design that utilizes the elegance of the “Octagram Spiral” fill pattern. The trick is made in the slicer (I have used PrusaSlicer), where you should set top and bottom solid layers to zero, and choose “Octagram Spiral” as the fill pattern with 40 % density.

The earrings are meant to be printed with two colors and to rotate freely to show both of them. To achieve this effect, I have prepared two variants:

1) Magnetic hinge: the ball rotates inside the outer circle thanks to two magnets placed to be mutually repulsive and therefore holding securely in the dimples in the outer ring. Designed for magnets with 2 mm diameter and 10 mm length. (E-shop (CZ): https://www.unimagnet.cz/t-02-10-nh_z307). I recommend printing the ball and the ring separately with different colors.

2) Printed hinge: just print :-) In this case I recommend adjusting number of perimeters, so that the hanging part is printed as solid.

In any case, do not forget to change the filament somewhere about the middle of the print.

The print in the photo uses PLA filaments: Prusament Pearl Mouse, Fillamentum Pearl Ruby Red and Prusament Mystic Brown.
