Easter is fast approaching and my children love painting eggs. I couldn't find any painting stations I'd liked to have bought so i designed and printed my own version. And here it is... Maybe slightly over designed and engineered, but hopefully it'll make the process of painting those eggs even more fun! Just add paint colours of choice into the 'yolk pots', grab a brush and away you go! This version should fit UK egg sizes Med/Large. If your eggs are other sizes, you may have to lengthen the springs 'in slicer' to accommodate those? Enjoy and a Happy Easter! Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Notes: Only supports needed for the springs. I've printed my springs in standard PLA, they are 'springy' but i'm not sure how stable the compress/return properties will be in use? The shell and yoke can print at low res, low infill. The yoke doesn't need supports - the overhangs may get a bit rough but all that underside is hidden within the egg shell. The spring and clamp parts will benefit from higher res printing. Print in appropriate coloured filaments Post-Printing Construction overview Cleanup will be needed on those springs and some trimming may be needed to get the yoke to slot into the shell nicely. Order of construction is slot yoke in first, slot/glue springs into their locations Note: the springs are 'handed' to test fit to ensure correct spring location. The station has been sized for a med/large UK sized egg. You may have to adjust the length of sprint in slicer to fit other sized eggs??
