Easy Off - Locking XT60 Caps

Easy Off - Locking XT60 Caps

thingiverse

I aimed to design an XT60 cap that strikes a balance between rock-solid security and effortless on-and-off functionality, unlike many secured caps I've encountered. This design offers a tight grip on the connector while still yielding easily when you pull the "V" side. Simply grasp the connector with one hand and pry it off by lifting the "V" side with your other hand - a smooth motion can be achieved by slipping your fingernail under the groove. The cap stays securely attached until you deliberately release it, making it unlikely to slip off accidentally. I often print in green and red to quickly distinguish between full and empty batteries. A slightly snug fit is normal during initial use; however, if you find them too tight or loose, try adjusting the horizontal expansion by a tiny margin (+/- 0.01). To ensure a perfect fit, I recommend printing a single cap first before producing a batch - this only takes a few minutes. If you print this design and have time, please share a photo on the "I Made One" tab; it's always exciting to see my creations in action.
