A simple-to-build desktop CNC milling machine for aluminum machining made of aluminum. The machine is made of aftermarket aluminum profiles and rectangular aluminum sheets cut on a circular saw. The design of the machine allows the use of inaccurately cut plates, which, however, must be flat. Aluminum profiles must be carefully cut to ensure the machine geometry. The linear rails used are cheap Hiwin replacements, SFU1605 ball screwsI used basic metalwork tools to make this project. I mainly used a bench drill with a set of drills and Piloted Counterbore Cutters. The only service I had to commission was milling the plates for the ball nut housings. It was a quick and cheap job. This is the final project from which I made a physical machine. The design is a bit underdeveloped, but it allows the correct assembly of the machine. I have not included some of the holes in it, but they all fit together. The limit switches used in the project are different than in reality, but I found such a model the fastest. The mounts also fit other omron microswitches and their copiesThere's a lot of 3D printed elements, motor mounts, limit switches mounts, etc. You can make it on cheap 3d printer like Ender3Electronics:At the moment, the machine is running on Nema23, 2Nm 2.8A stepper motors. The motherboard is a Chinese 5 axis LPT board, 45VDC power supply from toroidal transformer and 3 DM542 drivers. The control computer is HP T510 Thin Client, win XP, and Mach3It reaches speeds of 4 m / min, and allows for pleasant milling of aluminum with milling cutters up to a diameter of 10 mm.
