This mount is intended to allow you to mount an Echo Auto on any flat surface in your car. It uses double sided tape to secure the mount and holds the Echo Auto up above the surface. The mount is useful in cars where there isn't a traditional air vent that can work with the included Echo Auto mount. For example, on a Tesla Model 3 this allows the Echo auto to be mounted on the center console. Design goals; - Create an effective minimal design that to hold a echo auto on a flat surface. - Use the magnetic mount so the echo can be removed easily and will easily detach if bumped. - Mount the echo up, and at an angle so the microphones and lights are effectively positioned. - Design for manufacturing so that the parts can be made on a standard FDM printer. Things you will need to assemble. - 4 Magnets disk shaped 1/4 in. (6.35 mm) in diameter by 1/8 in. (3.2 mm) in height -- I happened to have these magnets lying around. You should be able to edit the OpenSCAD file to accommodate other magnets. -- These work; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N7GPLW3 - Double sided tape for attaching the mount - Super glue The thing is implemented in OpenScad making changing and remixing the design easy. In particular one can change the mount angle or dimensions to suit your needs. In particular it may be easier to change the magnet mounting holes to something you already have then to get matching magnets. Please share any useful remixes. The mounting plate is a great place to start a new design if this doesn't meet your needs. The parts were printed on a Prusa Mk3s and all parts press fit.If parts don't fit you can use OpenScad to adjust the corresponding overlash parameters.
