Echo Dot Wall Mount

This is a wall mount for the Amazon Echo Dot version 2. The screw hole countersinks are slightly oversized to recess a No.8 woodscrew and provide clearance from the Echo Dot. It was inspired by a design by IMakeThisLookGood http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2066228 but with thicker walls to survive life in a teenagers room. Print Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 20% Notes: Printed with standard settings for ABS and with an 8mm brim to aid adhesion. I printed it the 'correct' way up but there is no reason not to invert it if you want a greater contact area with the print bed. I have found my printer prints smoother in the Y axis compared to the X axis, presumably due to the greater bearing spacing, so I printed the wall mount with the side arms aligned to the Y axis as the back is hidden by the Echo Dot when in use. Post-Printing Deburred with a sharp knife blade dragged at 90 degrees to the print edges, followed by a light sanding with P240 grade sandpaper using a sanding block to remove any layer lines. How I Designed This Designed using Tinkercad. I started out with a cylinder 10mm bigger all round than an Echo Dot and then made an Echo Dot sized hole in it together with an extra slightly smaller hole for the front opening. I then removed the top and bottom segments to give the basic shape. To finish I added some holes for the screws and rotated the piece 90 degrees ready to print out.
