After I had a new Fujitsu heat-pump installed, I was sad to discover that its built-in thermostat was both super old-school and incompatible with Ecobee thermostats. I then discovered that I could make an Ecobee work by using: - the Fujitsu UTY-TTRXZ1 Third Party Thermostat Convertor: https://shop.rfwel.com/products.php?productId=7095 - a 24VAC transformer like this: https://www.digikey.be/short/9pd8n8qj Of course, all these extra components are super ugly and take up space. So I had an electrician install a [standard dryer electrical box](https://www.homedepot.ca/product/iberville-sq-range-dryer-box-2-1-8-in-deep-ko/1000106217) in the wall where I wanted the thermostat. He then ran 120v into the box. I was then able to mount the transformer and convertor inside the box, and connect it all together. This cover allows you to a) mount an Ecobee thermostat to a dryer box, and b) gives you a bit of extra depth to accommodate the transformer and adaptor.
