Cap to prevent dirt to collect inside the battery plug.

We have an AGM ECO electrical scooter (Ecooter). The winter cold will reduce the battery life, so we disconnect the battery and put in inside our home. We almost spilled some drinks over it so I feel myself urged to cap of the electrical contacts. Since it did not come with a cap I designed one myself.

To have it available when needed I designed it with 2 features. First it has a hole outside the protected area to attach a cord to keep it attached to the battery. Second the total height matches with the height available under the handle to carry the battery.

It is a snug fit. When plugging in the electrical connection it will seal of quite well. When tugged under the handle it will not moving around during the drive. Because it is a tight fit, the grip is improved by indentations on opposite sides.

Print instructions

Category: Automotive Print Settings

Rafts: No
Supports: No
Resolution: 0.2mm
Infill: 20%

Filament: REAL filament PETG Orange

Notes:
No brim,
Layers: 5 bottom , 5 top, 4 perimeter

How I Designed This

The cap is designed for an AGM ECO electrical scooter (Ecooter). It could be that the battery or battery plug is used on other brands also. If it doesn't fit to your application maybe you can still use the idea or the design features.

I used ThinkerCAD for the design. The dimensions of the charger plug were used for the initial design. And the height was determined from the measured space under the handle. Since the proper fitting of the charger rely on the electrical contact it turned out to be a very loose fit. It took me 2 itterations the find the proper dimensions.

The hole for the cord is quite small (I used kite rope). You can drill it bigger if the cord does not fit. But be aware you have 3D printed with sufficient perimeters to have some material left. A cavity was added for the knot.
