A parabolahedron is a projection of a flat hexagonal honeycomb grid onto a paraboloid. This model can be created and extended indefinitely with standard blue and yellow zometool struts. Symmetrical variants using green and yellow struts are also possible with standard zometool struts. Asymmetrical variants can also be developed using many different standard zometool struts. This model is an edge first projection. This particular model uses 242 balls, 89 blue struts and 176 yellow struts. The convex hull of this shape consists of affine hexagonal facets covered by a translucent skin which allows the internal structure to be seen. This model was developed with vZome.
