Edit to Robo3D auto-levelling bed, reprapdiscount LCD case custom fit
thingiverse
This is the top piece modified by Kals to work with an auto-level bed. Huge thanks are due to him for making this possible. The strange thing is that when I load this model into mattercontrol or repetier, a line appears - it's some sort of orphaned vertex, but don't worry about the technical jargon. What mattered was that this anomaly caused my print to hover above the bed. The software settings just couldn't be adjusted enough to fix it. I decided to dig deeper and opened up the file in Blender to investigate. There it was - a lone vertex, just sitting there doing its thing. One click and it was deleted, and then I used "dissolve vertices" to take care of it once and for all. As luck would have it, the problem seemed to be fixed after making these adjustments. Now, as we speak, this modified model is printing out flawlessly. You can even see evidence of the original issue by viewing Kals' part in Thingiverse - what a curious anomaly. Yet another community member has shared photos of their printed copy, so I'm at a loss to explain why one works while the other doesn't.
