This type of EFC actuators are mainly used on Cummins common rail engines such as Cummins LT, NT, KT etc. and these actuators are manufactured by Cummins, Woodward and other companies.This type of actuators are very reliable and has very long service life, perhaps most actuators are replaced because of a minor problem.The most common troubles related to the EFC actuator are:• Engine Speed Hunting.• The load cannot be increased even though the engine load is less than 50% of the rated capacity. In this case there is no black smoke and the engine load is steady.• Could not run at idle, the speed is above idle speed and could not decrease speed.Refer to the test and service procedure for further information.
