Egg for Eggs is a fun egg shaped container for small Easter Eggs (up to 32mm in diameter) that opens and closes by rotating the outer shell. The number of small Easter Eggs that can be stored inside will vary depending on the size of the eggs but usually more than twenty five. The design is a one-piece-print that features an outer shell with a hole in it and an inner shell which also has a hole in it. The two shells can be rotated independently to open and close the container making it a unique, practical and very cool container. To achieve the rotation between parts a precisely sliced file and well set up machine is important. However, a small amount of additional clearance has been incorporated into the design file in an effort to ensure a great result for all members. Get creative and make your Egg for Eggs multi-coloured by pausing your machine several times during the print and swapping filament to make truly unique containers. However, if printing multi-color, the inner and outer shells may be slightly harder to free up post printing due to filament deposits that may be left internally during the color changes. To be safe and ensure the shells break free easily scaling the file up uniformly by 5-10% should add a sufficient safety margin... and increase the internal capacity so you can store more Easter Eggs! At standard scale the print is 122mm tall and 92.5mm in diameter. There is a small amount designed in support ring at the base which should snap away quickly and easily post printing. Scaling up should be no problem but scaling down more than 10% may result in the inner and outer shells fusing which would stop the container from opening and closing. This is an easy print but it will take a little over 100gms of filament and take a while to print... but the result is well worth it! Please refer to the print settings provided as well as the images for additional information.... and post images of your prints in use for other members to see. Note: If you like this check out the rest of my fun and practical designs! Please also note that not all slicing apps are as precise as others and not all machines move/print as finely or accurately as others. This will affect the end result of prints to some extent. If your slicing app has issues with this (or any other) design try rotating or repositioning it on the virtual build plate before slicing and/or scale the design up 5 - 10%. This will change the way the app sees the detail within the design and it will develop a different tool path.
