This is a model of an Egmond Bass Guitar. Way back when I was 15, I actually owned one. Factory made in Holland, they were quite affordable and moderately popular. George Harrison owned a Rosetti Guitar, made by the same company under the Rosetti name. I've heard that there was a joke about them... That the wood was so fresh that it might actually sprout! However to my opinion, for a mass produced guitar they were very good quality in many respects and had beautiful body and headstock shapes, as well as the most wonderful sunburst finish. They also came in numerous other finishes, some even vinyl laminated. And to make them even more appealing, they sported 24 frets! (Well 25 actually including the "Dutch Nutt"). The one i had had a wonderful sound, but I reluctantly was forced to install Gibson Humbuckers in mine, the reason being, the stage lighting at the Church where one of my bands practiced had an awful amount of buzz. Since the pickups were single coils, unfortunately they picked it up strongly. The Rhythm Guitarist also installed Gibson Humbuckers on his Hagstrom 12- String, certainly devaluing both of our Guitars for collectors, but we were young and needed practical Guitars for very bad noise situations. Anyhow, I loaned mine to a friend who had the basement where he kept it to practice flood... Yes... I was a bit heartbroken to say the least. It was a great Bass.
