Electric Skateboard Tail Light Mount

Electric Skateboard Tail Light Mount

I wanted to add a rear light to my electric skateboard, as I sometimes ride at night. I use the light with my bike so I wanted it to be removable but well secured for easy swapping. The design allows the light to friction fit in the rear and has an optional but recommended sliding lock plate that can be screwed into place to prevent the light from getting dislodged via vibration during riding.

The parts in my photos are printed in blue glow in the dark PLA, supported from build plate only with 0.22mm of support separation distance for easy removal. Infill/perimeters at the discretion of the user, not many forces are at play on this part.

I used 3 M3 bolts to hold everything together, self tapped. There's no theoretical maximum length the bolts should be, but I found 12mm for the clamp and about 8mm for the sliding lock to be sufficient.

The supporting rods are m4 threaded and 65mm outer diameter to outer diameter, though this could probably clamp to many different similar rod setups.

This was designed in FreeCAD 0.19.1, though the file is pretty messy. I've included it anyways in the event others wish to modify the design.
