Simple electronic digital clock based on ex-USSR components. Schematic was published http://radiokot.ru/circuit/digital/home/175/ (sorry, in russian - use some translate service you like). Instructions Don't know how make it, so front and base put in printer upside down. Back is oriented correctly. Insert six nuts M3 in sockets on base. Screw 4 foot (not included in project) with M3 screws. Cut acrylic 3mm transparent glass any color you like. For VFD indicators usually use green, blue or amber glass. Insert in base and glue front to base with any appropriate glue. Insert PCB and screw back to base with two screws M3x16. Rail in base intended for attaching battery pack or supercapacitor for reserve power (optional). About schematic check article.
