Electronics Project Box with Perfboard

Electronics Project Box with Perfboard

I was building a circuit to operate my amateur radio transceiver from a Raspberry Pi running fldigi. To build it, I required a piece of perfboard and a plastic case, so I created them using OpenSCAD. The file keyerbox17.scad is the plastic case and perfboardkeyer9.scad is the piece of perfboard with footprints on each end for a connector and space for an audio transformer. You can easily modify the size of the box and the perfboard to suit your own projects. I printed both in PLA and found that I could heat up the wires going through the perfboard holes without melting the PLA if I worked quickly enough. The two halves of the case snap together securely. To avoid breaking off the tabs, you have to be a little careful when assembling them. If done carefully, you can also reopen the case using a very thin blade to slightly pry the tabs out again.
