I converted my Elegoo Neptune 2s into a direct drive printer(https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/68396-direct-drivinator-for-elegoo-neptune-2) and needed a better mount for the filament run-out sensor. I ended up mounting it to the top of the frame next to the spool of filament. Use some jumper wires or a wire extender to power it and also an M3 screw with a locking nut to allow to have a little movement so the filament doesn't have too much friction. You will also need 2 m4 bolts with T-Nuts.
