Eleni’s Greek Vase #3 – Boxes Design - 5/22/22 Designed by JWizard Thank you for choosing Greek Vase #3 – Boxes Design! This is our 3rd vase that we have created with a Greek design. Many people like the beauty of these vases. To accentuate the design on the vase, we used matte black and gold colored PLAs to make our vase stand out. The result is a lovely vase that can add some décor to any room. This is the first time we used this Greek design. The design is a part of JWizard’s Custom Stencil Collection. We will be creating more Greek designs and additional vases in the future. The enclosed .stl file is a tiny vase. You will need to scale this vase proportionally to meet your needs. You will also need to add the pauses for the filament color changes in your slicer since we assume you have a single extruder to work with. Keep in mind that the bigger the vase, the thicker and stronger it will be. The vase can be scaled to meet your needs. In addition a gcode files have been supplied that is ready to print and includes the pauses to change the filament color. The enclosed gcode file is a 310mm high vase. Do not use this gcode file if you cannot print an item 310mm high. Scale the .stl file with your slicer program to a size your printer can print. The following files are included: Greek Vase #3 - Boxes Design - scale to size.stl (this is a tiny model that you must scale to the size you want. This file does not include the pauses for the color changes. You must load this file into your slicer, scale it and add the pauses for the appropriate filament color changes at the correct heights and slice it for your printer.) Greek Vase #3 - 310mm.gcode (this is a ready to print 310mm vase which includes pauses for filament color changes. In order for you to use the file, your printer must be able to print 310mm high or beyond. If your printer cannot print 310mm high or beyond, do not use this file.) Materials used to create model in photos: Overture Matte Black PLA Eryone Silk Gold PLA Ideas: This vase can be scaled proportionally on all axes. It is best to scale the x and y axes the same to not distort the design. Our recommendation is to scale the vase proportionally in respect to the z-axis. Included is the gcode to create a 310mm vase with the pauses for the filament color changes so that you can re-create our Greek vase #3 as presented. If your printer can print up to 210mm, set the z-axis scale to 209mm and allow the x and y axes to scale automatically. If your print has a smaller maximum height, use the maximum z-axis height-1 and allow the x and y axes to scale automatically. Simply stated, create the vase at the height you want which your printer can support. We sliced our vase using the prusa slicer. Most if not all slicing programs allow you to insert the gcodes needed to pause for the filament color changes. We used the prusa slicer since this can be done visually. We also added Gcodes with the Cura slicer as well. It was easier to do the color changes using the prusa slicer program since this can be done visually on your display and you can easily see the color separation locations that you have selected. If you do not like where you have inserted your color separations, this can be easily adjusted. Since there is a design on this vase that you want to accentuate, it would be a good idea to use to colors that work well together. In our photo we used matte black and gold. You can use any two colors which complement the beauty of the vase design. Our photos will give you an idea of what you can expect using matte black and silk gold. In a previous vase we used matte navy and gold. These colors can also create an elegant looking vase. Conclusion: Let us know how you Eleni’s Greek Vase #3 - Boxes Design.
