Ellipse Generator Mechanism

The ellipse aspect is determined by the arm length (see the "scheme" picture). The first gear (static blue sun) has 34 teeth, and the last (red planet) has 17 (must be half the sun). The middle gear's teeth number only affects the first arm length (20 teeth here). Modeled with Solidworks 2015. Animated and rendered with Simlab Composer 6 Mechanical. Frames edited with Virtualdub and saved as AVI/X264 and BMP. Video remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui. Gifs made with GifApp. Renders made with Simlab Composer 6 and edited with IrfanView. The SIM file with the animation is included.
