After finishing my very first quad copter and taking it out for its maiden flight I have learned that you must tighten down the prop nuts pretty good. Long story short lost two props mid flight but luckily crashed into tall grass with no problems other than not finding one prop and two prop nuts. Not wanting to wait on new ones to arrive I just made my own and they came out great! Look good with a snug fit and I don't foresee them being able to spin off like the metal ones even if they weren't tightened down. I am totally confidant in there ability to hold on the props. One thing I would worry about is them wearing out after many remove/installs. I also included tools to help install them. ( up-scaled http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:964313 ) Update 20 May 16 : After several flights and even a couple crashes the nuts are holding strong. One suggestion I have is to print the CW and CCW in different colors. I found out the hard way that it's a pain to tell which is which when they are the same color. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Core XY Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: .1 Infill: 15 Notes: With it set to 3 for Top, Bottom and Shell with .4 tip infill is whatever you want as the important part has no room for any. I also printed at .2 but found .1 threaded on much smoother.
