the knob is much easier to locate and turn this way compared to the original. the other two components are designed to keep dust or rain out of the system, which is their primary function. the top door can be slid open after reloading and then closed again, a feature that allows for easy access. the ring on the side serves as a means to adjust the opening in the tube downwards, making it easier for sand to fall out and reducing the likelihood of rain entering the system. when attempting to remove the original pin from the slide, be aware that this may cause damage to the pin. two out of the two instances with me have resulted in broken pins. therefore, it is essential to retrieve the pin and create some adjustments within the mechanism yourself. reference: https://youtu.be/c4DUVbheYPs update 07-05-2020: springhead.3mf has been added as a replacement part for the original spring head. this new component should experience fewer issues with dust and sand compared to its predecessor.
