I needed a better solution to hold my sun shade supports, which are cheap 3/4" EMT poles. They're removable for winter or when I need a better deck situation with no shade. I used cutout blocks of 2x4 and 4x4, but they were splitting due to weather wear. I put these together with a small 1 degree deflection to compensate for the bend when tying on the shade (the base STL deflects to the right - mirror it for a left deflection). Haven't tested with larger shear situations. Print in PETG for UV resistance. Screw size #8 (#9 fits ok also)
