Enclosure Air Filtration System

Enclosure Air Filtration System

This is an air filtration system designed specifically for my server-cabinet-cum-printer-enclosure that came with two colocated 120mm fan holes in it's top. It is designed to fit 120mm fan holes with a separate fan section that can be customized to any fan that is 120mm or smaller. I suppose one could move the directional air tubes apart and create a fan structure for a larger fan, but that's on you. It is created specifically for the MUIN 3 stage solder filtration system filters (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J3TFZCG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details). I designed it to use one on each side of the fan, but found that I need a significantly stronger fan to move sufficient air with two filters installed. It works fine with one. I have it on the air intake side to ensure fumes don't get forced through any seams (fan sucks the fumes through the filter). Initially I made one side and printed two copies. Then I realized that it would be better to have one side with slotted holes for the mounting screws so as to be able to move it away from the fan assembly for filter changes. The fan assembly swings up and to the rear on the top rear bolt, but when both sides are tightened against it, the gasket won't allow it to swing. Too tight. So I made it so one of the sides can be loosened and slid away from the fan assembly to allow for the swing. I have mine mounted on top as hot air rises bring the fumes with them, but it could be mounted anywhere on the cabinet with enough space. I used M5 bolts and the inside holes of the fan assembly are molded to hold the M5 nuts in place so no wrench is required to tighten and loosen the assembly bolts. You'll need to pre-install the nuts with the "pull in" technique. I slotted the wire hole on the back of the fan assembly to aid in threading the fan wire through. A single hole was rather difficult even with a crochet hook. Update: I just realized I haven't been uploading the FreeCAD files for those using the FreeCAD program. Now I have.
