Enclosure for ThermoPro Temperature Sensor

Enclosure for ThermoPro Temperature Sensor

thingiverse

This is an enclosure for a ThermoPro TX-6B temperature sensor. The enclosure and sensor are mounted on a pipe in a shaded area of my yard so that reflected heat from my house, patio, etc does not cause inaccurate temperature readings. Dimensions of the sensor are 74 mm wide x 63 mm high x 23 mm deep. The sensor is listed as IPX-5 waterproof against moderate rain but the enclosure protects it against heavy thunderstorms in the summer and snow and ice in the winter. Silicone sealant was used to glue window screen mesh over all the vents to keep out spiders and insects. So far, so good! Two M3 button head screws with lock nuts were used to mount the enclosure to the pipe. I added a spacer that fits the 25 mm diameter pipe for a neater look. Three M3 x 5 mm OD threaded inserts were glued into the enclosure using epoxy. The front cover was attached using M3 screws. White PETG filament was used for weather resistance.
