Enclosure for Zoom H6 with M/S Microphone

thingiverse

A custom enclosure for Zoom H6 with spherical mid/side microphone option. Has additional slots for 4× spare AA batteries (including rechargeable ones which are a bit thicker). The model is made with average 0.5 mm tolerance gap around the main contour of the recorder. In my case that was just perfect. Designed for printing without rafts and supports. The top lid model has to be printed upside-down, starting from thew top surface. The gap between the surface of the field recorder and the lid's ceiling is 5mm above the gain knobs and 11mm above control buttons. The gaps are made to let the maker put a piece of foam or another soft material in the lid, and also to support any kinds of gain locking options. The model has locks, but the half-ellipsoid shape on the bottom part has printed with some part cut off, and also used PETG appeared more flexible than i was expecting, so the locks in my prototype wasn't keeping halves very well. So in order to make locking more reliable I have manually added and welded a tiny blobs of filament using soldering iron at about 200º C. The locks were a bit modified in the model without testing, so you may have to adjust thickness on your own, depending on your result and desired feel. It's recommended to enable auto-bridges (supported in Cura) to give the top logo more accurate view. you can make the logo shining by using a glass bed for printing, or using a small heated stripe of microscope cover glass slips or a piece of aluminum to polish the surface of the logo with a bit of support from the above.
