Ender 2 Slim Filament Spool Axle

Ender 2 Slim Filament Spool Axle

This design was inspired by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2746703. The pitch of the original design thread didn't match the nuts on my Ender 2, so I designed this axle from scratch. The axle will hold spools with a hole diameter down to 20 mm (e.g., Dremel, BioFila, etc.) and a width up to 70 mm. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Print the "01_Test-Thread" object to check if it fits the nuts on your original Ender 2 spool holder. You may need to scale the object in X and Y direction (not Z since it will change the pitch). On my machine, I had to print the object at 99.5% X and Y scale for a good fit. For this test object, you can set your slicer to e.g., 20% infill and avoid top and bottom layers in order to save time and filament. 2. Print the "02_Axle" object with the same X and Y scale as the test object. I used 4 walls for stability and 20% infill. 3. Print the "03_Nut" object and see if it fits onto the end of the axle. Start with 110% X and Y scaling for the nut. 4. Use both original nuts to secure the Axle to the metal part. Use the printed nut to prevent the spool from falling down. Happy printing :)
