Ender 3 (And Pro) Octoprint Pi4B Case

Ender 3 (And Pro) Octoprint Pi4B Case

thingiverse

This is an integrated enclosure for the Raspberry Pi 4B, specifically for users running Octoprint on their Ender 3 or Ender 3 Pro (Read note at bottom). I am particularly proud of this design because of the elegant and simple approach I took when modelling it on Fusion 360. Everything has a 0.3mm tolerance so the parts should fit nicely when printed on a well calibrated machine. I have only pre-prepared gcode for the standard (not pro as print settings may vary?) case, as this is quite a complex part and also includes custom supports. The other parts should be simple enough to generate gcode for yourself. It SHOULD print perfectly fine on a stock Ender 3 however I have not tested it for myself. Cura estimates a print time of 11 hours 54 minutes for this part. (0.12-0.28mm adaptive layers, 0.4mm nozzle, 50mm/s, 3mm retraction at 50mm/s, 3 perimeters, 15% cubic infill) I have taken the time to create my own custom supports for the case which will drastically reduce the print time. I strongly urge you to use these if you do not intend on using my pre-prepared gcode. Load the .3mf file rather than .stl into Cura but MAKE SURE to turn off "automatically drop model to the build plate" otherwise the supports will not be in the correct positions. Features: - The two vents are at the front to improve airflow and help cool the Pi, so that there is less risk of it overheating. - The slot above the USB 3.0 ports is a way to route the cables for a PiCam, at the request of a user in the comments. - I have integrated support for a standard SD card adapter for those who would like to keep this functionality. - The lid is now removable via a snap-fit joint. - There is optional support for a 40mm fan for additional cooling (see Lid_with_fan_v2.stl), as well as a fan shroud (optional_fan_cover_v2.stl) - At the back left is a slot to route the USB-C power cable through, so that it exits the base where the wiring from the mainboard comes out. Note for Pro users: I couldn't find a 3D model for the Ender 3 Pro and do not have one myself to cross reference. This meant I had to reverse engineer from other people's drawer designs so mine may not fit perfectly. I did, however, air on the side of caution so it will likely fit looser rather than too tightly. PLEASE feedback so I can work on the design if you print it for yourself! I will also not be providing gcode or 3mf files for the Pro. Happy printing!
