Introduction: ========== This is a dual-fan motherboard cover for the Creality Ender 3. It's designed to have two 12v fans wired in series, as shown in the third picture. The purpose of this part is to quiet down the Ender 3's loud motherboard fan with as little change in cooling as possible. The cover also slightly protects the motherboard from falling debris. Wiring: ====== To wire two fans in series, simply connect the positive end of one fan to the negative end of the next one. You should be left with a positive lead and a negative lead, which you can connect to the motherboard like normal. Ideally, you want to attach a very small (~100 nF) capacitor across the leads of one of the fans so they don't electrically interfere with each other too much. In practice that's not a very big deal. I've included holes to mount a little piece of protoboard, if you want to have neat and tidy wiring. It's not necessary, and I've also included a version of the part without those holes. How to Print: ========== This print needs to be rigid more than it needs to be strong, so I would use a very low-density infill, maybe 20-30%. Any more than that and you're probably wasting a little plastic. This part was designed to be easily printable with a stock Ender 3, and I've tested it on mine to make sure. Please let me know if you have any issues. The only catch is that, if you haven't upgraded to a hot end with better cooling, I recommend printing this with a low-temp filament like PLA. The first layer is a little too large to print with something like ABS, and it's very easy to clog the nozzle.
