Update 2/3/19 - Added an even deeper version, since I could still see the LEDs when looking at the printer from my desk. Loved the gantry LED light design I found from s4lfish, but there was a lot of glare, so I borrowed the idea to recess the lights from SPS-3's top mounted LED light bar and came up with this. I would however recomend sanding the inside of the bottom edge of the recess, because it is pretty reflective, at least in black PLA. I would also recomend using some superglue to help attach the LED strip, otherwise it will undo itself pretty quickly. This was the first thing I've designed and did it with Tinkercad, using a micrometer to figure out all the measurements. It was actually easier than I expected. It's really something designing a thing on a computer and watching it come to life in plastic in front your eyes. The LED strip I used are here and everything lines up just right. Here are the parts I used: LED STRIP https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JQV6Q4I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 WIRE TO CONNECT TO THE LED STRIP. I just used the wire connector, cut it in half and spliced it to the power supply after lowering the voltage to 12v with a voltage reducer. You don't really need all this stuff, but it didn't cost much more than just the connector. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077WRZ2N3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 VOLTAGE REDUCER Attach it to your power supply, hook up a volt meter and turn the tiny screw on top until you get 12 volts. Extras are nice, so you can power a raspberry pi or something else that needs less than 24v. A case is a good idea for this thing. I used this one because you could solder the wires without running them into the case first and it attaches to the aluminum extrusion anywhere on the frame. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3164882 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076H3XHXP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04__o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 PLUG SPLICER FOR THE POWER SUPPLY So you don't have to cut any original power wires or open up the power supply. Just cut one of the female ends off and solder the wires to the voltage converter. Then plug it in inline to the wire from the power supply. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0179IODB2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You will also need some hammer nuts and screws. I like to have extras, so I got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XCHYTLY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FCDL2SY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
