Ender 3 Light Bar - Brackets

thingiverse

These are brackets for a led light bar mounted on top of the Ender 3 printer frame. The brackets fit to the side of the top frame, have a rocker switch to turn the light on and off. I've connected mine to the printer power supply. Make sure you either have 24V led strips or you connect 2 12V led strips in series, (or use a dc-dc convertor). I've printed mine in PETG on a Ender 3 v2. Things you need for the assembly - The 2 brackets, left and right - Rocker switch, (19mm x 12mm ) - 18 mm aluminum led strip channel, 325mm length - 24 led strip, approx. 300mm length (or 2 x 12v strips connected in series) - 24awg wire - spade connectors for the power supply - I also used a small 2 pin molex connection near the light bar for serviceability - 2 x M4 20mm screws TODO: while the design works as is, there's a few things that can be improved (maybe another afternoon to redesign) - add ribs top the cut-off channel to improve strength - make sidewalls thicker, the top wall is only 1mm thick and feels a bit thin - see if rocker switch can be mounted horizontally to reduce the side footprint - add a few more fillets and roundovers to improve strength
