I wanted a more accurate way of leveling the bed than the conventional paper test. This mount is designed to slip on and off when needed without any screws so it is quick, easy and extremely precise. I simply level on the fly during a program until I like the thickness. Then I stop the program, clear the plastic off, mount the dial indicator and zero it at that location. Then I can jog the machine (or disable stepper motors and move by hand) to the 4 corners and adjust the knobs to ensure the bed is level. You could also jog the nozzle down until it is touching the bed, set the dial indicator to zero then jog the z axis up until you reach the height you want then proceed to match the corners. The model of dial indicator I use is a Phase II, the bolt used is a 1/4-20 1" length. It is a really easy print: no supports-60mm/s- .2mm layer height Happy Printing!
