Ender 3 Pro Bed Spring Screw Locking Nuts - AKA: Bed Spring Thing

The spinning bed spring screws have bothered me since day one. I know they likely do not cause a ton off issues but with a precision device like a 3D printer I needed a solution better than a nut and washer that would cause the spring to sit oddly, or take up a bunch of compression space so... Enter the Bed Spring Thing. Essentially its a plastic 4mm nylock style nut that has an over sized head and a groove in it that the spring sits in tightly. Once printed you cut threads in the nut with a 4mm screw carefully as you don't have a bunch of extra material to work with so you want to be cutting it nice and straight. Print extra so when you screw one up, you have backups. I printed 8 and 6 threaded great, 2... not so much. Once you have the threads cut you can install a spring to see how tight it is. The spring fits nice and tight and actually threads in to get seated perfectly if you twist it in. Precise, that is what I wanted. To install thread the Bed Spring Thing, thread it on to the bed screw far enough so you can add two more 4mm nuts and jam them together. Then you have something to hold onto so you can thread the B.S.T. all the way down the nut and snug it up against the bed itself. Tighten it nice and snug so you can no longer rotate the bed screw and you are good to go. Next thread your springs into the B.S.T till they are seated perfectly and reassemble your print bed knowing that it is now a little more precise and a lot more custom, as after all... custom is king. :) These are printed in PETG with 100% infill. Nozzle Temp 240 - Print Speed 30mm/sec.
