Ender 3 Pro OEM extruder + E3D v6 + Hero Me gen 5 direct drive adapter

This is a direct drive adapter for Ender 3 pro, using the stock Creality extruder, the E3D v6 hotend/clone, and the new Hero Me Gen 5 fan duct together. To assemble this mod, once you have my direct drive adapter printed (I suggest to print it turned 90° ccw, also put the Z position to 0 in your slicer; supports enabled, 100% infill, 4 perimeter walls, 6 upper/lower layers), you have to remove the two upper wheels of the X carriage, then hot-press (you can use a soldering iron) the two aluminum spacers in the 7.5 mm holes in the lower part of the adapter. Then, reassemble the wheels in place, now with the adapter on top of the carriage. Insert all the way up a short piece of PTFE tubing in the fitting of the stock extruder, then cut it VERY short. Only approx. 1mm should stick out (with blue clip inserted in fitting), to touch exactly the top of the E3D v6 heat sink, thus providing a straight, short path for the filament. Then, you can assemble the complete Hero Me gen 5 on the X carriage, following the proper instructions. The adapter also has 4 attachment points for zip ties, iron wire etc, to hold the stepper motor heat sink in place, which I strongly suggest to use. I also recommend using some silicone between the fans and the cooling ducts, to ensure maximum air flow to the part. IMPORTANT: I personally used the Hero Me Gen 5 double-5015 fan ducts, and found that only the inclined version could fit this assembly. That’s because of the size of the extruder stepper motor.
