This Printable Height Extender for the Ender 3 and Pro restores the printable area (250mm) Z-Axis height that's lost after converting to Direct Drive. There are several of these conversions available to download, and they may differ from each other in design. I had used the conversion from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3816051 The only thing I did different is to mount the extruder with the cable connection facing down, to give the Z direction a bit more height. You can see this in the photo of the just printed 250mm high Chrysler Building. It may look a bit odd since I did the test print of the building in "vase mode" https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4684502 In addition I have added on the left side a bearing to stabilize the Z-Axis Screw when a hand wheel is attached to the end to crank the carriage up and down. A hand wheel with knob is supplied. I have noticed that there can be slight variations in the distance from the vertical frame to the Z-Axis screw. I have and Ender 3 and an Ender 3 Pro. The distance was several thousands of an inch different. If you run into this problem, which will cause the screw to slightly bind, you can use the Adjustable version with its separate bearing. After attaching the left and right frame, with the Z-Axis screw poking through the oversized hole, simply drop in the bearing and glue it with a drop of Super Glue. You will need 4 bolts - M5 x 50
