#WonkyFan v1# ##(Experimental)## ###Motivation: print ABS parts on Ender 3### Stock Creality fan guard creates considerable draft onto the printed part resulting in failed ABS printing on Ender 3. I've designed WonkyFan to reroute air flow away from the nozzle. ###Installation### Printed parts in PLA. Designed each part to print without or with minimum support. _Air Intake_, _Fan Draft Shield_ and _Part Cooling Duct_ require minimum support when printed with the square/rectangular face sitting on the plate. Heatsink should be set aside first. 1. _Base_ is first installed and secured with the two screws from the stock fan guard. 2. Place _Air Intake_ over the heatsink. First position the _Air Intake_ over the heatsink. Next, slide up such that the heatsink locks in the groove at the bottom of the _Air Intake_. _(The heatsink is still detached from the base at this step)_ 3. Secure heatsink to the base. (_Air Intake_ allows you to fasten the bolts through the inside). Tip: _push the heatsink upwards while tightening the bolts to preserve bed leveling calibration each time you install._ 4. Place the axial fan on _Air Intake_ 5. Secure _Part Cooling Duct_ to the base 6. Push the centrifugal fan into the _Part Cooling Duct_ 7. Slide _Fan Draft Shield_ over the axial fan ###ABS Printing### **This section is for printing with WonkyFan installed, not for printing the WonkyFan parts.** Use the following settings in Cura: - Build Plate Temperature: 75 - Enable Print Cooling: Off - Build Plate Adhesion Type: Raft or Brim - Enable Draft Shield: On - Draft Shield X/Y Distance: 15 ###Results### The difference between WonkyFan and stock is tremendous although some parts still warp on the edges. There is still a lot of draft around the heated bed, coming either from the power supply or the mainboard fan. However, some test parts printed with sharp corners and negligible warping.
