Ender 3 X-Gantry Right Mount for Cam

Ender 3 X-Gantry Right Mount for Cam

At least on my printer, with a blTouch on the left of the print head and a line of led fixed under it on the front the best viewing angles for a cam are either from the back or from the right. I build a pillar for the backside to hold a cam before (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3978597), now I was searching for a thing to mount a second cam at the right. Possibly fixed somehow to the x-gantry so the cam would follow the printhead up. I'm convinced someone did such a thing before as the idea isn't far fetched, however, I couldn't find anything so I tried my own solution. This thing is a clip-on, you have to turn it in counter-clockwise until the nose at the bottom clicks in. It has some tolerances still for the nose but already sits stable on the metal, the nose at the bottom will catch should it try to turn right under weight. This is only the basis of a webcam mount - two screw holes are supplied (3mm diameter). I thought at first that there are so many camera arms and cases on thingiverse I wouldnt need to create a new one. But, contradicting myself, the next step I took was adding an actual webcam holder for that wiered GEMBIRD webcam with the clip at it's back. That took a cylinder with a 3mm hole, a 20mm M3 screw through the basis, then screw the cylinder on it, clip, ready. Added two pics of it all at work. However, I ended creating a new thing for a pi cam: Pi Cam Case and Mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4870271) Freecad sources are supplied so you can optimize it for your needs. Please write a comment if you do and share your changes, thanks & have fun If you like it, like it.
