# Filament runout sensor mount A mount for a filament runout sensor to be used on the Ender 3v2. The sensor will be mounted on the X-axis frame using the roller wheel gantry mount, just slightly to the rear of the Z-axis screw. ## **Requirements** * Standard mk8 extruder in bowden setup (as in a factory Ender 3v2) * **sensor-mount.stl**: * Filament being supplied from the side of the extruder * I use [The rocket](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4691695) side spool mount (as pictured) * **sensor-mount-supplied-from-gantry.stl** * **Untested** since my ender 3v2 is supplied from the side (see above) * This is assumed to be for the spool to be located on top of the gantry. * I would appreciate feedback about this, since both height and sensor position is guesswork. Keep in mind that you can pick on which side of the mount you want the filament to run through by flipping the sensor around, please include that in your feedback. * A filament runout sensor matching the shape above * Plenty of them available from aliexpress and similar sites, for example: https://aliexpress.com/item/32796458815.html * There likely are other online retailers carrying this item. I'm not aware of a specific type or part number that you can search for. * Most important aspect is that the screw holes are 20mm apart. Other filament runout sensors that also have the screw holes 20mm apart might be able to fit on there. * A way to fasten the sensor to the mount * I used 2x M3x20 screw + nut * Zipties probably will work. ## **Printing & installation** This is designed to be a tight fit but not needing any adjustment. I have printed it with PLA using a 0.6mm nozzle without issues. 1. Print it 2. Simply push it into the same position as pictured 3. Fasten the sensor to the mount (using the screw & nut, ziptie or another method)
