Ender 5 Electronics Case Extension

Ender 5 Electronics Case Extension

This is an extension for the stock Ender 5 Electronics enclosure to allow installation of upgraded boards such as the SKR 1.3. I wasn't happy with any of the other designs out there, so I came up with these to allow you to install an upgraded board without too much fuss. This also allows you to retain the factory board cooling fan and location. I designed these to be used with the Ender 5 Rear Mount Electronics & Power Bracket: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3830464 I also used the Ender 5 - SKR 1.3 adapter here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3981935 You will need 4 M3x20 to screw these in place. With this bracket, you will need to cut out some of the existing vent holes to allow access to the USB and SDCard slot. I also had to use a longer LCD Ribbon to connect the stock display. The Bottom Left corner bracket has a cutout to allow the ribbon to exit the case and run back to the display. I designed this in 5 pieces to allow for customization for any specific design or use, as each corner needed different gaps to allow room for the rear mount brackets, LCD ribbon, ETC. There is also a center piece for the top and bottom that is optional if you want different locations for wiring to exit. I expanded the screw holes to allow for some variation, but I didn't print another copy to test, so you may need to drill the holes out a bit to allow for some slop in the screws to ensure you can mount it properly. This is my first ever 3D design, so I hope some find it useful!
