Update (28 Feb 22) - Added MGN12H adapters for the Y-axis. I don't have extra MGN12H rails/carriages myself, so if you print this, please provide feedback. I designed it around the same mating surface of the MGN9C rail so it should work fine. SHOULD. :) As is the case with all my other designs, I never really felt that any of the other designs specifically suited my needs without drastically changing the components to the printer, beyond moving to the MSDD. I tried printed chains with trays, other fan mounts, etc, but ultimately was not terribly happy. Linear Rail Adapters - Tried to design as simplistic as possible. X-Axis adapter bolts directly into the MSDD from the rear. It must be attached to the hot end carrier plate before the linear rail block. Of course, you'll need to do this when the extruder stepper is removed. Drag Chain Adapters - I designed these to use two different types of drag chain. Mostly because I bought the wrong kind at first (closed links, not semi-open) and it used a two point attachment rather than the common triangular three. The mounted photos only show the two point attachment, but the files have been updated to support either the two or three point. For ease of installation, by all means, move to the semi-open. Vertical Electronics Box Mounts: The design without a drag chain adapter is to be used on the edge with the power switch while the other is to be used on the adjacent edge so it can attach to the Y-Axis drag chain. Part cooling fan: Uses standard 5015 fan and magnetically attaches to the base. It requires three magnets for the fan duct and three for the base. They all press in quite easily. Keep in mind, this IS a work in progress. If you move to this system, the only option for a part cooling fan at the moment is a little less than optimal, but I'm working on a fan duct right now. Parts needed: - Cable drag chain (This particular model comes with extra end links and should be able to cover the required length for both X and Y movement: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09376Q64H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - Countersunk M3 screws of various lengths - M3 Socket cap screws - M3 nuts - M5 button head screws of various lengths - M5 nuts - M5 T-nuts - 1x 300mm linear rail with MGN12H carriage block - 2x 300mm linear rails with MGN9C carriage blocks - 6x 6mm x 3mm circular neodymium magnets for parts fan
