Ender 5 Plus Enclosure

We selected the ender 5 plus for its build area and cube frame style construction, knowing that we wanted to print ABS with a heated chamber this design lends itself to easy enclosing using twin-wall polycarbonate panels designed to attach directly to the frame using the extrusion profile with quarter turn fasteners that I designed and printed.The polycarbonate front door provides a clear view into the print chamber. The top or lid is constructed from a twin-wall polycarbonate top with twin-wall polycarbonate back and a clear polycarbonate front. the sides are closed off with Tanis brush strips which allow the gantry to move back and forth. An inner twinwall polycarbonate side wall stops just above the gantry rail and enhances heat retention and helps prevent the bristles catching in the belts etc. I have printed covers for the gantry which prevents the bristles getting into any of the belts etc. A camera rail and mount allows a webcam to be positioned on the door for a view into the print area. the printed handle has a latch and keeps the door closed. I have plans to commercialise this as a flat pack kit which would come partially assembled. The two side panels and the back simply attach to the frame with 1/4 turn fasteners. The front door assembly attaches to the frame using M5 machine screws and Tee nuts that affix to the extrusion. The top is the only part that needs assembling and this is achieved with 3M VHB tape. The brush strip is pre bonded to the top panel as is the aluminium angle to accept the front and back panels and the inner side panels. To complete the assembly, peel the backing off the tape and attach the panels as required. The brush strip can be slid into the brush strip extrusion and the ends crimped to prevent movement. Thats it. I estimate from opening the box to fully enclosed printer would take less than an hour. Based on material prices (the expensive parts are the 6mm clear polycarbonate panels) the cost would be around $250.00 CDN approx $200.00 USD. Would love to hear comments/thoughts etc.
