Ender Laser head mount

Ender Laser head mount

Long story short, this is a mount that sits on the X-carriage to allow you to mount a laser for engraving. The laser used was 500mw from a Neje unit, set at 100mm focal distance. In use I raise the z height by 60mm, plus the thickness of the item being burned into. The laser goes to the laser/fan slot on the board. I used inkscape with the J-Tech extension to generate the code, adding in a home command, the raise command an a pause prior to actual printing for final moving of the target object. I recommend watching some You-Tube videos on using Inkscape for using the plug-in if you haven't tried it before. Disclaimer : I made this for my personal educational purposes - if you use it, it is at your own risk. Using lasers can be dangerous, make yourself aware of any safety precautions and follow them!. ***VERY IMPORTANT NOTE*** When using the Laser output on the printer board, it appears to cause the laser to briefly light at full power on startup, when you change cards and when you start a print, maybe at other times too. Wear your glasses at all times!!
