I was tasked to create a spring that matched a physical drawing. To do this I used a caliper and a ruler to dimension the drawing. I had to find the center points for an ellipse and two circles. To create the spiral I used the helix tool in Solidworks. Once the part was complete I manufactured it on a glowforge laser cutter.
