Outboard impellers wear out constantly, and can damage or destroy an outboard engine in no time. Typically made of rubber, sand and other impurities can destroy or melt the impeller. They come in a variety of size which are amazingly easy to CAD and manufacture. Advantages of a Polyamide impeller are that there is less wear, longer life, no risk of melting, and will better handle impurity uptake. They can be manufactured with the vein angle already in place to perfectly slot into the pump housing. The design shown employs a high pressure side, and should increase the life and lower vulnerability to engine malfunction on the water. Its a tiny part, but is an absolutely vital part in all marine engines.
