Ergo Mouse Shape using G305 PCB

thingiverse

This is my design for an ergonomic mouse shape using the Logitech G305 PCB. As this was my first attempt at designing something for 3D printing, the actual files I printed (Top and Base) are not perfect and some sanding is required to make all the components fit. Mainly, I found parts of the Top had to be sanded down to fit the PCB in. I also had to sand down the back of the on/off switch taken from the G305, as it was too tall and pushed up against the PCB (this didn't affect the usability of the on/off switch at all). I also de-soldered the M1 and M2 mouse switches from their individual PCBs, superglued them directly onto the main PCB, and soldered the wires directly to the pins under the mouse switch (I believe the red wire should be soldered to the M1 middle pin, the white wire to the M2 middle pin, and the corresponding black wires to the front pins). Personally, I had to make the M1 and M2 button pressers on the top shell longer (I used tiny squares of electrical tape and a cut up plastic card) so the clicks didn't feel too heavy - I've since adjusted the length on the stl file, but I haven't printed it again, so I'm not sure if it's the right length. I also bought a AAA battery holder and hot glued it to the top of the shell. There should be enough space for one that is around 50mm x 13mm x 12mm. I replaced the the battery wire completely, however, you can probably solder the battery wires to the battery holder wires. This added about 10g to the mouse, making it a total of 82g. Finally, I've also added two stls for the general shape of the mouse (one with side buttons and one without), in case you want to try just the shape. I also made an imgur album with comparisons to the EC2-B as well as a size comparison with some other mice I own (https://imgur.com/a/HL0oEAM).
