<p>I was inspired to design this ESP32 D1 Mini case after writing <a href="https://blog.briancmoses.com/2022/03/espresense-easy-room-detection-for-home-assistant.html">a blog about using the ESP32 D1 Mini and ESPresense to incorporate room-specific presence detection in my Home Automation</a>. &nbsp;</p><p><br>After using someone else's design, I thought it'd be fun to re-design my own using OpenSCAD and to share the source code so that others could take the design and modify it to their own needs.<br><br>The friction-fit design snaps together pretty snugly around the <a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PNWB81Z?&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=homeassistant0d-20&amp;linkId=b14e116704f628f4f01d5e6c07b123db&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl">ESP32 D1 Mini</a> with holes for the development board's status LED, &nbsp;micro USB port, and reset switch. &nbsp; There's seven different styles of “vents” to improve both ventilation and hopefully help optimize WiFi and Bluetooth reception.<br><br>The available styles are:&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Solid</li><li>Espresense</li><li>Horizontal bars</li><li>Vertical bars</li><li>Diagonal bars</li><li>ESP32</li><li>Bluetooth</li><li>WiFi</li></ul><p>No 3D Printer? &nbsp;No Problem! &nbsp;<a href="https://www.tindie.com/products/briancmoses/esp32-d1-mini-case/">I'm selling the ESP32 D1 Mini case in my Tindie Store</a>.&nbsp;<br><br><br><strong>Updates</strong>:</p><ul><li>08/17/2022: Increased the amount of material around the cutout for the USB connector.</li><li>09/09/2002:<strong> </strong>Added a new variation with the <a href="https://espresense.com/">Espresense</a> logo.</li></ul>
