Like most, the majority of my IoT projects include the use of an ESP8266, specifically the nodeMCU V2 module. I took to Fusion 360 to design a housing for the module with room for Dupont connectors so as to keep the pins on the board safe. The result is a little tall, with various inlets to reduce material use and encourage airflow. The lid slips on, and is held in place by four M2x12 bolts, although longer M2 bolts will work just fine (up to 20mm). I've also added a version of the case with a slot for a female barrel jack connector (2.1x5.5mm) to power an IoT project.
