The fourth thing in my Week of Things, some useful, some just for fun. Thought this would force me to post some of my projects. Most are semi useful/functional and some are purely inspirational.

After getting a Gaggia Classic espresso machine for Christmas i began working on a 3d printed espresso tamper. 4 versions later i thought i should share my design.

Print your own it in three standard diameters 51mm, 53mm and 58mm. If you have a Gaggia classic you can use my smart holder to easily store the tamper.

Remember that most printers do not make food safe prints, DO NOT USE WITH OILY BEANS OR WHEN WET

I designed it with the classic shape, i tried other designs with thumb grips but found the classic to be the most comfortable and useful.

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Infill:

80-100%

Notes:

Figure out which size you should print you can use this link: sizing guide. Print it heavy for best feeling. Use many perimeter walls so no water can enter the tamper when cleaning.

For the holder simply print it. I used no supports which worked fine for me but your results may vary.

If you have a rough bed it might be best to sand the bottom to 600p
